Between the Oregon Coast and Portland

My mom and I on a walk in the forest on the way home from the Oregon coast. The trees were huge.

Here we are again, by a water fall on the same trail. It was cold...about 60 degrees F.

Here we are at Camp 18 on the way back to Portland from the Oregon coast. This was a HUGE old log that they have for show outside the restaurant. Everything is big inside the restaurant too. In fact we had a sweetroll that was so big, it took 3 of us two meals to finish it.

Rachel at Manzanita. I'm doing Tai Chi on the beach. Tai Chi is an ancient chinese practice designed to energize the body. I felt energized.

This is hut we found on the beach. My dad and I added some wood to top and made the bench I'm sitting on. Here I am praying to God.

Brazos Bend State Park, Texas

This my Gramma Betty, mom JoAnn, and me standing under tree in Brazos Bend State Park. This was the only place with shade we found in the entire park.

This alligator was trying to hide in a swamp at Braxzos Bend. I was scarred to see this alligator. It eventually swam away.

This is a baby alligator I actually petted at Brazos Bend State Park. The skin felt dry, warm and scaly.

This is a gray herron in Brazos Bend State Park.

This is a stature featuring the Holy Family (Mary, Jesus, and Joseph) on an altar at the convent's church in Brenham, TX. I said a prayer for my mother, to heal her breast cancer.

Downtown Brenham, TX

This is me standing beside the "Day Star Christian Book Store" in Brenham, TX. The book store contained many bibles and other inspiring books. They have a lot Knick Knacks related to Christ and his disciples. My favorite thing in the store were communion wafers (they represent the bread Christ blessed at the last supper).

This is my Mom (JoAnn), my Gramma Betty, me (Rachel), and my Grandpa Mark standing outside city hall in Brenham, TX.

This is a stained glass window showing St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, the environment, and Italy (from Wikipedia). Because I like animals, I would like to be like St. Francis of Assisi. The cardinal in this picture is my mom's favorite bird, and she hoping to get a dog when our cat (Edgar) dies.
